Medical Grade Isolation Power Transformers
When health and personal wellbeing is at stake, as it often is in medical industry scenarios, it is of the utmost importance that equipment functions properly. Medical machinery equipped with Triad Magnetics’ Medical Grade Isolation power transformers are the ideal solution.
Medical Grade Isolation power transformers from Triad offer a number of benefits over transformers from other manufacturers. Their toroidal construction allows for them to be manufactured in much smaller sizes than standard EI transformers, ranging in heights of 5.12 in to 6.82 in, and improves efficiency.
Constructed within a Class F insulated, white powder coated steel enclosure, our Medical Grade Isolation power transformers are ideal for use with hospital beds, dental chairs and equipment, medical lab equipment, and patient monitoring equipment. Perhaps the most important benefit is that stray fields are greatly reduced, ensuring that the functioning of other sensitive equipment will not be affected.

PC Mount Split Pack™ Class 2/3 Power Transformers
The Triad Magnetics team constantly seeks new ways to improve on transformer technology. One such improved technology is our Triad Split Pack™ transformers.
Split Pack™ transformers are a versatile tool for an array of PC board applications. Unlike standard PC board transformers configured with secondary-on-top-of-primary designs, the Split Pack™ is a split bobbin side-by-side transformer, a small innovation that leads to large benefits.
Their split bobbin winding and low capacitive coupling eliminates the need for electrostatic shielding, a costly PC component. Their independent secondaries allow for use in series, parallel, or separate circuits. Primary-to-secondary high potential (hipot) dielectric strength is 4200 volts AC (VAC), nearly twice the industry standard — secondary-to-secondary dielectric strength is also increased.
These represent only a small sampling of the benefits of Triad Split Pack™ transformers. For more information — including about enhanced safety features, performance capabilities, and more — watch the video at right or contact us today.

Universal Chassis Mount Power Transformers
Triad Magnetics’ Universal Chassis Mount power transformers are specially designed to offer optimal performance when integrated into full wave center tap circuits and bridge circuits, when those circuits utilize rectifiers made of silicon or selenium. They also perform excellently in voltage doubler circuits at half the rated current.
Universal Chassis Mount power transformers offer a huge array of nominal secondary voltages. For example, the F-90 series — the most capable models, designed for use with silicon diode rectifiers to supply DC voltages for transistors in innumerable applications — can generate 23 different output voltages, ranging from 7 V to 40 V, by connecting secondaries in a series. The secondary voltage is selected by primary taps.

Autotransformer Power Transformers
Triad Magnetics’ autotransformer power transformers are available in single winding step-up transformer models, in which the primary coil is a fraction of the entire winding, and step-down transformer models, in which the secondary coil is a fraction of the entire winding.
Standard double wound power transformers feature isolated primary and secondary coils, so all power transfer is conducted by induction. Autotransformers transfer power in between coils in part conductively through the windings. This leads to increased efficiency, smaller size, a higher degree of voltage regulation, and other important benefits.
Triad offers 14 different autotransformer power transformers, including a universal isolation/autotransformer/voltage control model capable of operating at an output wattage rating of 4,000 output watts.
The specification table below details the capabilities of each of these models. To learn more, contact Triad Magnetics today.

Isolation Power Transformers
Isolation power transformers from Triad Magnetics have been designed explicitly for use in applications where equipment must be isolated from direct power connection.
Triad isolation power transformer models are available in a range of voltages and sizes, including MD suffix-designated models designed to meet the low leakage requirements found in medical equipment applications. These hospital-type isolation power transformers are available with resettable circuit breakers for increased protection against overloads and short circuits.
All of our isolation transformers feature non-concentrically wound coils, each wound on a separate arbor. The arbors are assembled, side by side and separated by insulation, on a laminate core. Triad takes these extra steps to prevent both normal and overload conditions from causing electrical connection between the primary and secondary windings.
